At Ravencrest, our message is a truth that guides every aspect of our mission: the indwelling life of Christ empowers believers to live a life of abundant fruitfulness.
We are driven by the belief that when Christ resides within us, we are not only vessels of His grace; we are fruitful branches, bearing the fruit of love, grace, and service to a dying world. It's a message that resonates through every course we offer, every prayer we share, and every act of service we perform.
Our purpose is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ; not only a new life after death, but a new life that begins now, here on earth.
We exist to empower believers to cultivate a deeper connection with their creator, to understand that their lives are meant to be fruitful extensions of His love.
Through biblical education, community life, and service, we guide our students and guests toward a life that reflects the presence of Christ in every endeavor.
“True repentance says, ‘I cannot,’ and true faith adds, ‘But God, You can!’”
- W. Ian Thomas
At the heart of our staff community are people dedicated to living out the life of Christ. Each person brings unique gifts and experiences, united by a shared commitment to serve the Lord.
Together, we seek to model and cultivate a culture that reflects Christ’s heart in all we do.
Ravencrest Chalet, a charming alpine retreat nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, has a rich and transformative history that goes beyond its picturesque appearance. Constructed in 1963, this architectural gem was modeled after the timeless chalets of Switzerland, echoing a bygone era of rustic elegance.
Initially, Ravencrest served as a private residence for a decade. However, in 1973, a remarkable change was set into motion when four forward-thinking businessmen purchased the chalet and turned it into a Bed & Breakfast known for it’s “elegant European comfort and charm”. However, the businessmen had bigger plans.
Inspired by a higher calling, one of the owners reached out to Major Ian Thomas. Upon Major Ian Thomas's visit in October of 1973, a profound realization gripped all involved – the Lord had something extraordinary in store for Ravencrest Chalet.
The confirmation of this calling arrived early in 1974 when the beautiful buildings and sprawling grounds were acquired, cementing its transformation into a Bible School and Retreat Center. Ravencrest Chalet embarked on a new mission—a sacred one, guided by the light of Christ.
Since that pivotal transformation, Ravencrest has not only been a sanctuary for countless Bible School students but a place of respite for retreat guests seeking solace in the tranquil embrace of the mountains.
Above all, Ravencrest has stood as a vessel to manifest the radiant Life of Christ Jesus our Lord, reflecting His divine presence and purpose. The legacy of Ravencrest Chalet continues to unfold, impacting lives and spreading its message of love and faith to all who drive up Pole Hill road.
