Coronavirus Impact

With so many changes taking place on a daily basis with regard to the Coronavirus, we wanted to keep you as updated as possible with impacts to our ministry here at Ravencrest. It is our desire to move forward with as much of our programming as is wise to do so, and of course in accordance with Government mandates. We will be regularly updating this page to reflect any changes to our planned programming for the remainder of the 2020 year. Please pray with us and for us as we seek to remain obedient and available to all that the Lord desires during a season such as this. We look to Jesus!

2020 Spring Term

March 27th, 2020 Update

We are excited and grateful for what the Lord is doing. We were able to kick off our online Bible school program this week on Monday, so we are officially up and running! We have been looking forward to connecting with our students again after a very eventful Spring Break apart. We all met virtually for Family Group and Prayer & Share and students are listening to lectures online. We will continue to make tweaks and adjustments as the days and weeks go on. Thank you to all of you for your prayers for this term – we will need to be dependent upon the Lord as always for His leadership and guidance.

March 18th, 2020 Update

Dear Parents and Students,

We hope this finds you well and experiencing the true and everlasting peace from the Lord (Philippians 4:7). Last night we were made aware of a new executive order issued by Colorado governor Jared Polis that took effect at 12:01 a.m. today, March 19, 2020. The order says that gatherings of ten or more people are prohibited for the next 30 days. As well, the governor has prohibited teaching in person from March 23 – April 17. This means we are no longer able to have students come to Ravencrest to be in-person for our Spring term program until the earliest of April 17. Our remote Bible School will now extend until then, but we will of course track closely with the governing authorities to be sure this remains a viable option. We will remain in regular contact with you to ensure you’re aware on a timely basis of any changes.

For now the schedule will be as follows, however, we will likely make adjustments as we go, hopefully to enrich the time in whatever ways we can. That schedule, as a reminder is:

  • Each Monday, starting this Monday, March 23, we will email out an audio link for the lectures that week.
    • Students will electronically submit their Guest Lecturer Reflection journal with the same schedule as usual.
  • Abiding by our current weekly schedule (in the Colorado MST time zone), we will digitally meet together as family groups (Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m.) and prayer and share groups (Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m.)
    • These times will be coordinated with students and interns by the respective staff for each of those groups. So please be checking your email/FB messenger/text for messages regarding these meetings.
  • We will be sending out a short video devo from various staff members each Monday – Friday for those two weeks.

Logistically, if you would like to retrieve your belongings (things in your room, classroom, cars) in the meantime, please let us know how – if you would like to come to campus, have another student pick up your belongings when they come, or if you would like to arrange having the items shipped to you. Please let Kate know (only Kate so we can keep all information centralized) by email (office@ravencrest.org) or text (719-494-6566) by Friday, March 27 what your plan will be. If you are planning to come to Ravencrest, after you have confirmed with Kate, please feel free to communicate your plans on the Facebook group chat so other students can possibly coordinate with you and thus minimize the number of people who are needing to make their way here.

We look to the Lord during this time, and we trust you are finding great comfort in the knowledge He is constant and sure. Again, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
